The “operating system” and “programs” I’m talking about here are actually your body and your hormones. Just like the software you use every day, you need to give the right commands to your body for it to operate correctly and efficiently.
What you communicate to your body through your hormones is based upon what you eat, when you eat, how often you move, and the ways in which you live. This is what’s been determining the output (results) you’ve gotten so far.
I’m well-versed in the rigors that working in IT can take on you both mentally and physically, as I have been an IT consultant for over 20 years. I’ve done the all-night upgrades (and all-weekenders). I’ve traveled onsite to many locations, with only time to see the inside of the airport, my hotel room, and my customer’s building.
So I know that the food choices and time for workouts are…ahem…”limited” – to put it kindly.
I had a love-hate relationship with food, exercise, sleep, and stress for most of my life. As a person with “Type 1” diabetes and Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, I quickly felt the effects of not eating or living in a way that was best for my body. I struggled with energy levels, my weight, and my relationships.
After many years of studying nutrition and health and experimenting on myself, I’ve learned how to communicate with my body: To understand what it needs and how to give it what it wants, so that I’m not struggling against cravings, and weightloss is an effortless side-effect of optimizing my health.
